Vienna and Central Europe

Study Abroad in Vienna with IGE

Your semester with IGE Vienna can be the most important semester of your university experience.

explore

Explore Viennese and Central-European culture firsthand by integrating directly into the society. Dine in authentic Viennese restaurants with fellow students, linger at the Schonbrunn Palace’s gardens, or simply observe the locals over an extraordinary cup of coffee at one of the many cafes.

Travel is an integral part of the Vienna program and all students take part in a weeklong travel/study program through Austria and Bavaria – along the “Romantic Road” – as part of the required Core Course. Throughout the rest of the term students will have the option of traveling on weekends and breaks throughout Europe.

learn

On the Vienna Program you will study with Professors from the University of Vienna in a variety of subjects. All of the courses are taught by professors holding the highest degrees in their fields and all units are fully transferable to any university in the United States. The particular focus for the Fall of 2007 is on the historical and cultural development of Central Europe prior to the Second World War, but the range of courses offered make this an ideal semester for almost any major of study. The Vienna Program provides a unique opportunity to travel and study in Central Europe in either the Fall, Winter, or Spring terms of every academic year.

language skills

Expand your German language skills in a challenging immersion based intensive language program and through everyday interaction with the local Viennese. German language instruction is available at all levels from beginning to advanced. Students can earn up to twelve (12) language credit hours.
